Uncharted waters. I lay there, staring up at the ceiling, somehow trying to ‘will’ the night not to end.

I loved my teenage years and didn’t fancy facing the world as a twenty year old!

My birthday. Another day, another year, another decade.

At the end of the night I couldn’t stop time, I couldn’t go back – I could only face the world, at the age of 20, slightly more tired than usual.

I learned of course that another birthday is not to be feared but a new opportunity.

Enjoy and celebrate your birthday with a portrait and maybe a family portrait. Whatever the “new” age you become, you and your family will enjoy it always.

Whatever birthday you or your family is celebrating - "the only family photos you regret are the ones you didn't take. You will always find reasons not to take a family portrait. None of them matter. Take it anyway". (Missy Mwac)
