The Nomad Football Cage was a popular event during Dromore 2012's Olympic Event

The organisers of Dromore 2012 Youth Week will be pleased and sorry to see the end of the week. Pleased because they have put in a lot of prayer, thought, planning and sheer hard work to present such a variety of successful events for young people and they are bound to be exhausted; sorry because they have been blessed with beautiful weather, a fantastic turnout at each event, and they are bound to have enjoyed seeing the fruit of their labour that they want to continue! Tonight the “Olympics” were held in Dromore! Numerous fun events set out around the grounds of Dromore High School. Again, there was a great deal of participation, noise, activity and enjoyment. As I observed I noted that God must have been delighted at the sight of so many young people busily involved in “the games” and have enjoyed sound of chatter, laughter and excitement. Tomorrow night a BBQ is being organised for Young People in Dromore Park.

Sophie H and Sophie T perpare to enjoy the "Girly Film Night"

Dromore 2012 held a very successful “Girly Film Night”. The Youth Wing at Dromore High School was filled to capacity with pinks, pastel shades, make up and fluffy scarves! Only joking but it was just for girls and, feeling a bit out of place, I didn’t stay long enough to hear which film the girlies actually watched. As I left, however, I couldn’t help notice the mountain of Pop Corn on the side – I wonder did they leave me any?

The family love to gather at the Summerhouse for bar-b-ques

I photographed this lovely, warm, extended family at the grandparents’ beautiful home in Hillsborough, Co Down. We spent around two hours photographing formal and informal images of the family enjoying each other’s company, moving throughout the house and garden. The craic was mighty and the time flew past as we enjoyed a laugh and made the images together. Nat King Cole sang, “The greatest thing is to love….and be loved in return”, and when these grandchildren are learning the story of their family, my images will be used to show just how much they are loved.
